Dear Members.
We did it! Well done!
As we approach the last week of Little Aths Seasons 20/21, we commend everyone for their support, enthusiasm and commitment to make our Little Aths Program happen in 20/21.
Centre Championships – thank you everyone
Many of us saw the joy in what we do last weekend at Centre Championships – watching kids walking away with tinkling medals around their necks, singlets pinned with a colourful array of ribbons or with just seeing a child standing on the podium shouting to their parents that they did it.
Some of us felt joy when we learnt an athlete who started learning a new skill for the first time this season ended up winning a medal at the recent Little Athletics State Championships. Argh… not a time to get emotional, we have 1 more session to go AND State Relays.
This weekend we have decided to change the program to U6-U8 only (see below) as we have now realised that a very large component of the other age groups (including the Age Group Leaders) are participating in State Relays and can’t be there.
However, if you have an Under 9+ athlete not participating in State Relays and would like them to come to Saturday session please email Nicole on [email protected] to see what can be done.
This Saturday (u6-u8 only)
The reduced program for Saturday starts at 8.15am (warm ups) and the full program of events is here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1fVQg4SNxJ_dC4MfrR19ktv10ZVvAQ4mK/view?usp=sharing

State Relays
Timetables and Teams have been circulated. Good Luck to all our athletes. Parents Duty has been given to us and the link is here for you to sign- up SLAC State Relays
Under 16 Athletes
Unfortunately, due to the year we have had and the relentless re-scheduling of events, we will not be able to formally congratulate and farewell our Under 16 athletes. These athletes are all amazing role models for Sandy Little Aths and reflect our true spirit. We can’t believe they now finish their Little Aths era, it seemed only yesterday they were doing Under 6’s, but we hope they will be back next season as our new coaching recruits.
We would like to take this opportunity to say well done to all the girls and invite them back to our home at Glamis Avenue when the new track is finished and we hold our official opening:
Congratulations to Ella Maskiell, Amelia Spenceley, Zoe Bilsborough, Ella Rankin and Jasmin Edmond
Our Annual General Meeting
Our AGM is being held on Wednesday 31st March from 7pm – 7.30pm. We will need members to please to sit in on this zoom so that we can formally appoint any new committee members and formally discuss this season and our plans for next season. We’d love you there with us, just for 30mins max we promise…

If you are interested in joining our Team please let us know. We are hugely excited to be coming back to a new track next season and want to do so much more, so any helpers/ideas please join us.
See some of you over the weekend – and thanks again for all your enthusiasm and support this season.
