Volunteers are essential in the running of our program. Because Sandringham Little Aths is a totally voluntary organization, we cannot operate without the assistance of parents each week in fulfilling the many and varied duties required, including staffing the canteen, measuring long jumps, recording throws, to name a few.
Age Group Managers
Sandringham Little Athletics is fortunate to have a number of parents willing to give of their time as Age Group Managers for the season. The AGMs are the most important people in Sandringham Little Aths, as they are critical to the successful running of our program each weekend. AGMs are primarily responsible for leading a specific age group around the track for each of their events. AGMs are also responsible for engaging with parents to help with field events through measuring, recording and co-ordinating.
AGMs typically have a child in the age group, so it is a great way of getting involved with their children’s sport.
All AGMs must have a valid Working With Children Check for the duration of the season.
If you are interested in being an AGM, please contact Sandringham Little Aths at [email protected].
Each family (irrespective of how many athletes from your family compete) is required to fill a formal parent volunteering role four times during the season (except AGMs). Sandringham Little Aths uses an on-line portal (signup.com) where families can select any 4 weeks to volunteer.
The roles which parents can volunteer:
* It is important to note that many parents are needed to assist in the running of field events, not just the AGM and Assistance AGM.
Those families who do not complete their volunteering quota are expected to provide volunteering support during the Centre Championships day.
Sandringham Little Aths understands that it is difficult for some families to volunteer due to extenuating circumstances. If you are one of those families, please contact [email protected] to let us know.
