The Coles Community Round last week was a big success with Kelsey-Lee visiting the members in the morning, Coles Sandringham Staff spending the morning with us and RCD Foundation supporting our Connors Run event. Also – did you know we raised over $1,000 on the day for the RCD Foundation?!
More than 105 children ran PBs in the 400m races – well done! We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.
This week’s email covers the following topics:
This Saturday 19th November
Below are some general details and info for this Saturday:
- Start times: 8am for U6 – U9 & 10am for U10-U17
- Set up help: Parents of U7 BOYS are on set up – please make the effort to arrive at 7:20am to help out. Parents of U12 GIRLS are on pack-up duty.
- Coffee van: YES!
- The ‘PB Wall’ is back: The PB wall is returning this week. This is a much loved focus at our club where everyone gets a star against their name on the wall, for a PB each week. If they get more than 1 per session, a number is written down on the star for how many PBs they received. We will have random spot prizes to say well done on our PB wall.
- Coles BBQ: Yes! The parents of U9 GIRLS & U11 BOYS are on BBQ cooking duty this weekend.
- Bananas: YES! We have lots of free bananas each week (donated from Coles) – make sure you grab some.
- Merchandise: Sandy Merch is making a full comeback on Saturday, so come and grab your singlets and hoodies.
- Wet weather: Check out the wet weather button on our website (in the top left hand corner), which we will update at 7.30am on Saturday mornings if the weather is concerning – and again at 9.15am so as to cover the second session.
- Program: here is the program for this week – CLICK HERE and please note that we will also run 200m & 300m hurdles. These will start at 10am sharp – but only if you let us know that you want to do them ahead of time, so please email us at sandringhampresident@lavic.com.au to confirm
Parent duty allocated roster starts in January
As we mentioned last week, unfortunately we have not been receiving the required number of parents signing-up to run the sessions and signing up for duties.
The volunteer rostering is therefore changing from January. We will add your name to the weekly list of jobs needed on 4 occasions over the season (less if we know you have already done duty). We know some of you have already done 4 duties and others are happy to help more often – thank you, we appreciate the help as the Committee are stretched on all fronts!
We have sourced a Community Shopping Pack which we will give to those members who do their 4 rounds of duty – if you have 2 kids at sandy, that is 8 duties, and 2 shopping packs. If you believe you have done your 4 already, please liaise with Nicole directly on sandringhampresident@lavic.com.au. The Community Shopping Pack consists of several vouchers you can use within the Bayside Area.
Please also remember that our Coaches are there to COACH, not parent or act as crowd control!
State Combined Athletes – well done!
In case you missed it in the socials this week – well done to all of our athletes who competed at the State Combined Championships:
Leni Hartley, Taylah Lamb, Cooper Ille, Callan Duddy, Mackenzie Duddy, Polly Owen, Hope Henry, Charlie Ironmonger, Gemma Easton and Zack Harrison.
Each of these little guns finished in the top 30 of the state for their age group, and Callan, Mackenzie and Gemma finished in the top 3.
AWESOME JOB YOU ALL AROUNDERS!
