Happy New Year to you all.
We hope that you are safe and well.
Whilst we still remain very positive that 2022 will be a fabulous year, we do know some of you have met with Covid and danced that stressful routine (perhaps a few times like me!).
So let’s instead turn our focus to the kids (and of course you because we love our parent community) – SLAC Little Athletics returns for the second half of the 2021/22 season this Saturday 15th January.
On Saturday 15th, we will combine with Brighton Little Aths (at Dendy Park) to run our Inter Centre event. It was Sandy’s turn to host this year, but Brighton have kindly offered to help us out as the Sandringham track cannot be used by us quite yet. We will share details of times and events mid-week – but for now we would really like to know if your child is able to attend. This will help us with planning group sizes, coaches, parents etc. in light of the current circumstances. We would like to support Brighton as much as we can, given they are so generously hosting this event again for us.
Could you please click on this link and provide your child’s first and surname plus age group if they are attending. It is much appreciated.
Please note that we will have a limited supply of merchandise and singlets available this Saturday at Brighton LAC.
Some dates for your immediate reference:
Sat 15th Jan – combined program with Brighton LAC
Sat 22nd Jan – our first session at home on our new track
Sat 29-30th Jan – State Combined Event Championships at Lakeside. (SLAC normal program on Sat 29th at our home track for those not participating in the State Combined Event).
Lastly, to continue the other dance we are having… our home track start date will be learnt this week when Council returns from holidays. Fingers crossed we are back Sat 22nd Jan for a community celebration!
Thanks again, happy new year to you all – and please do look out for our regular news bulletin mid-week with full details about the program for this Saturday.
