REGISTRATION

Athletes must register to compete in relay competition by Saturday, October 26th 2019. SLAC will be using online bookings this year for Relay registration. Please click below to take you to the registration page. Entry fee will be $25 per athlete (covers the cost of Mentone, SMR & State Relays). The Relay Committee then calculates and pays for the number of teams we can submit, based on Registrations.

Constructing our relay teams is a complicated and time-consuming task. If an athlete decides to withdraw, after team estimates have been submitted, this could result in the withdrawal of the whole team and disappointment for other athletes. There are no refunds for individual or teams that are withdrawn. Final teams will be confirmed by the SLAC Events Coordinator & Assistant Events Coordinator, Coaching Director and President.

Calling all under 8 boys and girls! $10 entry to All under 8’s
The Mentone Relay Day is the only event that allows the under 8’s to compete in relays. There will be boys and girls 4 x 100m
and mixed 4 x 100m. The emphasis at this level will be on fun and participation giving children a taste for relay running. Teams will be randomly selected, and NOT based on times or performance

Age Group Relay Coaches
Age Group Relay Coaches will be appointed by the SLAC Centre Committee to assist in the coaching of athletes and also to help select teams. Remember that our coaches are all volunteers.

Code Conduct
Please see our full selection relay policy & athlete and parent code of conduct in the regulations document on the SLAC website. Parent volunteer support is needed for these meets.

Track and Field

Athletes can enter Regional Track and Field Championships in upto four favoured events.  The Regional Track and Field Championships are the qualifier for the State Track and Field Championships.

Both events are held late in the season with State Track and Field Championships being the traditional season closer held at Albert Park.

Centre Championships

Sandringham Little Athletics holds an annual Centre Track and Field Championships run in a similar fashion to Region and State Championships. Athletes can compete in up to 6 events against other athletes from the centre.  For those who haven’t experienced Regional or school competition this is our athletes first competition experience.

The Championship is held on one Saturdays between the Regional and State Track and Field Championships.
