It was fantastic to see so many athletes on Saturday, including the 60 or so who attended their first trial. This week is the first week of competition where we start measuring and counting points towards the Centre Championship Awards (read further below).
PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR CHILD HAS THEIR COMPETITION BIB/PATCH ON – WE CAN NOT LOG CHILDRENS’ RUNNING RESULTS WITHOUT IT. No patch – no record of times (which means no times registered for relays either).

5. How to access results
1. This Saturday 21st
- Start times: 8:15AM for U6 – U9 & 9:45AM for U10-U17.
- Set up help, pack up help and BBQ: U9 Boys are on set up this week (please arrive at 7:15am). U8 Boys and U10 Boys are on BBQ. U10 Girls are on Pack Up.
- Where to go: come in to the track and head towards your age group sign. (If you haven’t picked up your bib yet, you will need to pick that up from the registration tent at the front)
- What to bring: water bottle, hat & sunscreen (if sunny)
- What to wear: Competition Patch/Bib – this contains your membership number which is scanned for track results. It needs to be worn across the lower chest/stomach each session. Under 6’s are free to wear comfortable exercise clothes.
- Is there food and coffee? Yes, we have a BBQ which is staffed by parents. Most weeks we also have a coffee van on site for that caffeine and a sweet kick for the parents. AND we have FREE bananas every week from Coles.
- Wet weather: Check out the wet weather button on our website (in the top left hand corner), which we will update at 7.30am on Saturday mornings if the weather is concerning – and again at 9.15am for the second session.
- Program: Here is the program for this week.
2. Season club points and Centre Championship Awards
- You might have noticed that the Season Calendar has a * next to some of the dates. These are weeks where each child will earn points towards the end of year Centre Championship Awards. This Saturday is the first of those dates – and we are also officially measuring most events this week. Here is a link to the Sandringham season calendar for those who haven’t seen it (as updated for competitions). It’s also on the StackTeam App.
- At the end of the season, athletes in U7- U17 Age Groups are awarded a Trophy & Certificate for 1st, 2nd & 3rd places in the season and a Certificate for each of 4th to 10th place. Athletes in U6 receive a participation medal which will be given out at the day of our Centre Championships.
- The dates which are counted towards these awards are confirmed by the SLAC Committee and have been published on our Season Calendar since the start of the season (there is an * next to a point round).
- Athletes must be a Sandringham registered and paid member by COB on the Wednesday prior to a session to accumulate points from that session.
- Trial athletes will not be eligible for points.
- Each event scores points according to the overall placing in that Age Group and Gender.
- Points can only be earned in the specific events in the program for that age group and gender allocated to that event day.
- You can refer to our Code of Conduct (on our website) for more information about how these are collated.
3. Wednesday coaching
Coaching is held at the track every Wednesday 4:30 – 5:30pm (it is free for members). Spots are limited so please sign up through the below link (or access “Sandringham calendar” on the StackTeam App which also has the Sign Up link). If you can no longer make it, please update the link.

4. Relays
A reminder about relays!!! Please see the attached information flyer. If you would like to join – please ensure you can commit to the training sessions on Wednesdays 5:30 – 6:30!
5. Results
Did you know you can access your child’s results online? Results for every track and field event are timed, measured and uploaded after completion of each Saturday athletic meet at Sandringham Little Aths. All competing athletes results are recorded and can be viewed on ResultsHQ. Every Little Aths member can access and view their results logging on to www.resultshq.com.au at the end of every Saturday athletics meet. Here is a link to some further details or copy https://www.sandringhamlac.com.au/index.php/results-2/
See you Saturday!
