Competition Results – State relays and Mornington Open Day
State relays – 4th Feb
It was a very very fun day at states last weekend (have a flick through the photos online HERE) The Sandy teams performed so well and made us all very proud. Did you know you can watch the races on YouTube? It’s pretty cool…
Well done to all of the athletes who competed on the day. The camaraderie, support and sportsmanship was tremendous.
A big shout out to our youngest competitors – the U9 Girls and Boys. They raced competitively for the very first time this year and qualified for States in every single event. (The boys even had two teams who raced in the state finals for 4x100m). What a great future for them all!
And what can we say about those U11 Boys and U15 Girls – first in everything – wowsers!
Last but certainly not least – how AMAZING is it that the Sandy U10 girls came first and second in the 4x100m? UNBELIEVABLE!

Mornington Open Day – someone say medals galore?
A few of our little athletes also recently competed at the Mornington Open Day combined event on 22 January.
There were some fantastic results on the day, including overall medal placings! Jack Ille (1st), Jakob Tickner (2nd), Zachary Harrison (6th), Cooper Ille (2nd) and Ewan Toner (10th – what an effort for the first ever combined!).
See you all on Saturday!
