For those families who have not been involved in Little Athletics before, we offer the opportunity for your children to trial Little Athletics for free. Triallers are welcome to join-in all the activities that are available to members on 2 Saturdays starting on October 11 or after. Once the trial is complete, you have the opportunity to register as a member of the centre for the season.
If you wish to trial, you can email us on sandringham@lavic.com.au and we will let you know of next steps.
If you are trialling, please do not attend the track meet on October 4. Your first opportunity to trial is on October 11.
Age Group Calculator
All Little Athletes compete with other children of their same age. The age group for your child is determined by the year of their child’s birth. The age group will be the next number above the age which your child turns in 2024. For example, a child that turns 10 in 2024 will be in the Under 11 group. Children that are between the ages of 5 and 16 years old on December 31, 2024 are invited to register. For children who turn 5 just after the New Year, please contact Sandringham Little Aths for more information at sandringhamregistrar@lavic.com.au.

What happens when you Register
Registration is complete when you have filled in the details online at the LAVIC website and shown proof of age (if a new member).
A competition patch is printed for each registered member and will be distributed to them at the next Saturday session that they compete (registrations completed on a Friday need to wait an additional week). The athlete needs to bring the registration patch to each meet.
A reminder that Registration patches for new athletes will NOT be issued until a committee member has sighted evidence of the athlete’s date of birth. Acceptable documentation includes a passport, birth certificate or child health record. The documents may be scanned/photographed and emailed to sandringhamregistrar@lavic.com.au.
Cancellation of Membership
The LAVic component of the registration is non-refundable. The Sandy Little Aths component will only be refunded under extraordinary circumstances after approval by the Executive Committee. Requests must be made in writing to the Club President and sent to sandringhamregistrar@lavic.com.au.
Cancellation and Program Changes
Cancellation of weekly competition programs can occur throughout the season due to wet weather or excessive heat conditions. On a Saturday morning, or prior to any twilight programs scheduled, if you are concerned that the program may be cancelled, please check this website by going to the home page 30-60 minutes before the session is about to commence and click on the Weather Check button in the top-left of the home screen.
The decision to cancel a program is made by the Sandy Little Aths Committee with the safety of athletes and officials as their primary concern. On some occasions, a program may also be altered to suit weather conditions. The Little Athletics Victoria weather policy will be used in the decision-making process.
