Registration Information NEW or returning member and can’t wait for the new season to begin?
We have exciting news regarding our track! It will be redeveloped at the end of 2020. Our Program will run until the end of December at our Glamis St track, then we will temporarily relocate to Moorabbin Little Athletics (GR Bricker Reserve) from January where we continue our program on a Saturday mornings.
In line with the latest restriction easing please find the following information we ask Parents to respect and adhere to. Here are some details for you to read:
- There is an entry and exit plan in place for the venue to ensure we don’t have large groups of people entering and existing at the same time.
- Social Distancing must be adhered to and if you can’t social distance please wear a mask.
- Hygiene process will be in place for athletes, parents, coaches, volunteers.
- If you are unwell please stay home.
- We will have a ‘Get In. Train Get Out’ policy.
- The Canteen will not be open at this stage so please bring water bottles with you

Due to the current lifting of restrictions we are able to return back to our normal 2 session program. This is effectively immediately and as follows:
- U6-U9 8:15am warm-up, events 8:30am – 10:00am
- U10-U16 9:45am warm-up, events 10:00am – 12:00pm
The weekly program is emailed to members as part of the weekly news bulletin.
Our Season Fees 2020/2021 consist of an LAVic fee which includes insurance cover for Track and Field and Cross Country seasons and a Sandringham Little Athletics component that covers the administrative, operational and equipment costs associated with running the centre.
Trialling Little Aths
If you are unsure if your child would enjoy Little Athletics, but wants to give it a try, you can do so without any financial commitment. We welcome families who are unsure about Little Aths to have up to 2 trial sessions with us during any Saturday meet (redeemable within 28 days of your first visit). You must sign up through the LA Victoria Registration Portal but you don’t pay anything ….just select ‘trial’ when prompted.
Please note that we close the window to accept triallers each week at 5pm on a Thursday before the Saturday program to allow us the opportunity to organise groups (i. you must have registered to trial on the Little Athletics Victoria portal before that time). There are no walk ups for trialling. If you have additional questions regarding trialling that are not answered on our website, please contact us at [email protected].
Age Group Calculator
All Little Athletes compete with other children of their same age. The age group for your child is determined by the year of their child’s birth. The age group will be the next number above the age which your child turns in 2020. For example, a child that turns 10 in 2020 will be in the Under 11 group. What happens when you Register
Registration is complete when you have filled in the details online at the LAVIC website and if a new member shown proof of age.
A competition patch is produced for all registered members and will be issued to our on our competition morning.
A reminder that Registration patches will NOT be issued until a committee member has sighted evidence of the athlete’s date of birth. Acceptable documentation includes a passport, birth certificate or child health record. The documents may be scanned/photographed and email to [email protected].
Cancellation of Membership
The LAVic component of the registration is non-refundable. The Sandy Little Aths component will only be refunded under extraordinary circumstances after approval by the Executive Committee. Requests must be made in writing to the Club President.
Cancellation and Program Changes
Cancellation of weekly competition programs can occur throughout the season due to wet weather or excessive heat conditions. On a Saturday morning or prior to any twilight programs scheduled, if you think that the program may be cancelled, please check Sandy Little Aths Website (home page for the weather check button), or Facebook after 07:30AM for Session 1, 9.00AM for Session 2 and 10:30AM for Session 3.
The decision to cancel a program is made by the Sandy Little Aths Committee with the safety of athletes and officials as their primary concern. On some occasions, a program may also be altered to suit weather conditions. The LAVic weather policy will be used in decision making.
